Meet:

Alpha Epsilon Phi

The purpose of AEPhi lies within our core values statement, “above all else,” founded at Barnard College in 1909, Alpha Epsilon Phi inspires and supports exemplary women who are dedicated to life-long friendship, sisterhood, and personal development. Members of our organization continue to build on the vision of its jewish founders while welcoming with open arms hundreds of new members, regardless of religion, who appreciate the jewish identity that AEPhi was built on. Above all else, members of AEPhi are committed to friendship, philanthropy, leadership, and encouraging both intellectual and personal growth.

Philanthropy

Alpha Epsilon Phi has two national philanthropies one being Sharsheret which supports jewish women and families with breast and ovarian cancer. Sharsheret founded a worldwide initiative called “pink day” as a way for AEPhi chapters to generate conversations and host fundraising events within their communities. In support of this, each year we host a “cake race” between on campus sorority and fraternity organizations that compete against one another. Our other national philanthropy is Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation, which is dedicated to preventing and eliminating pediatric aids and hiv infection. In support of our two philanthropies, each fall we host the largest philanthropy event on campus known as “Greek God” which is basically a male beauty pageant that on campus fraternities compete in. Last fall we raised over $51,000 and this fall we raised over $57,000. Additionally, in the spring we host “Phi Hoops” which is a march madness-style basketball tournament. Also, for the past few years, we have hosted a car wash each semester alongside an on campus fraternity in order to raise more money for our national philanthropies.
