Meet:
Phi Mu
Phi Mu was founded in 1852 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, by its three founders: Mary Dupont Lines, Mary Myrick Daniel, and Martha Hardaway Redding. Phi Mu is the second-oldest sorority in the nation, and the Binghamton chapter was established in 2014.
The sorority strives to promote vibrant living, encouraging all members to achieve personal and academic excellence, lifelong friendships, and service to others. To Phi Mus, living vibrantly means having or showing great life and energy—something you can find in all Phi Mu women.
Phi Mu women live by three core values: love, honor, and truth.

Philanthropy
Phi Mu’s national philanthropy is Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH). CMNH works to support 10 million children in need annually by funding life-saving treatments, healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment, and innovative research.
Our chapter raises money for CMNH through various fundraising events each semester. These efforts are especially close to our hearts. Every day, CMNH is able to treat approximately 16,200 children with trauma, 935 children with diabetes, 2,128 children with cancer, 2,329 children for surgeries, and 925 newborns in the NICU.

All of our chapter’s proceeds from philanthropy events go directly to Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse.
Every fall, our chapter hosts an event called BonnaMu—an all-day music festival that allows students and Greek life organizations to show off their musical talents, participate in lawn games and competitions, and shop with local vendors.

Additionally, this past spring, our chapter hosted Hot Ones, a game show where fraternity and sorority members eat chicken wings that get progressively spicier while answering fun and challenging questions.

We have also hosted Sets for CMNH and Phi Football, which are volleyball and football tournaments where sororities and fraternities pair up to compete in friendly, spirited games.
Since 1986, Phi Mu nationally has raised over $19 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and our sisters are proud to continue making an impact through dedicated fundraising and service.
